American Teenage Runaways takes its place in the pantheon of timeless coming-of-age tales, akin to Rebel Without A Cause, S.E. Hinton’s Rumble Fish and The Outsiders, Stephen King’s novella The Body (Stand By Me), and Jon Krakauer’s Into The Wild. It presents an unflinching look at troubled teens on a journey to find their place in life, while capturing the raw emotion and uncertainty of adolescence.
